Researchers from the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) delivered presentations at the regional workshop titled "Countering the Misuse of the Internet by Terrorists and Violent Extremists," held in Ulaanbaatar on April 23–24, 2024. The event was jointly organized by the Counter-Terrorism Council of Mongolia and the Transnational Threats Department of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

The regional workshop convened over 70 participants from Central Asia and Mongolia, representing government agencies, media outlets, law enforcement, civil society, academia, and the technology sector. Discussions focused on strategies to combat the spread of violent extremist and terrorist content, as well as false and misleading information, while ensuring full respect for human rights.
